Activate UAN and link Aadhaar by November 30, 2024 for ELI Scheme benefits.

Mandatory Action:
Employees must activate their Universal Account Number (UAN) and link Aadhaar to bank accounts by November 30, 2024, to access Employment Linked Incentive (ELI) scheme benefits. This step ensures smooth Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) for eligible employees.

Why It Matters:
The ELI scheme, introduced in the 2024 Union Budget, aims to create 20 million jobs in two years by incentivizing formal employment. Aadhaar-linked UANs allow employees to track Provident Fund (PF) balances, submit claims, and ensure compliance for benefit disbursement.

Benefits Under ELI Scheme

For Employees:

  • Wage Subsidy: First-time employees under Scheme A can receive up to ₹15,000 as a one-time subsidy.
  • Practical Training: Internships and skilling initiatives bridge academic and workplace gaps.

For Employers:

  • Incentives for hiring new employees under Schemes B and C, including EPFO contribution reimbursements and wage subsidies for workforce expansion.

Steps to Activate UAN

  1. Visit the EPFO Member Portal: EPFO Login.
  2. Click ‘Activate UAN’ under the Important Links section.
  3. Enter your UAN, Aadhaar number, date of birth, and Aadhaar-linked mobile number.
  4. Verify via OTP, and receive your password for future logins.

Don’t Miss Out!

Failure to complete Aadhaar linking by the deadline risks losing ELI benefits. Employers should assist employees in ensuring compliance.
